Microsoft Teams introduces new features on Android and iOS


Microsoft Teams has introduced new features on Android and IOS smartphones that would make the video conferencing app the best-fit alternative to zoom.

The new features on Teams include the ability to upload images to your gallery and search inside chats and channels on Android.

The Android app now allows people to generate links for free meeting invites to send to others who do not have a Teams account, and adds a new Safe Key setting while on iOS, Microsoft has updated the app to the latest version 2.0.19 with improvements including the ability to see eight participants at ago.

Users on iOS will also see an agenda view of upcoming meetings that people can join. You are also able to edit and share content with other participants. iOS users now have an update that will reduce the amounts of data while the video is on.

This is not the first time Microsoft is realizing updates on to beat Zooms competition. Earlier on, Microsft surpassed Zoom users in the videoconferencing space taking up 894 per cent while Zoom grew by 677 per cent only.

Teams has continued to make significant updates on the team’s apps to make it more user friendly while also targeting a larger audience.

Last week, Teams added a user Voice Forum which gives you the ability to customize your left sidebar so you rearrange, pin and unpin all your apps or similarly pin messaging apps right next to your message formatting options.

“We’ve added the ability to customize your left side bar. you can now rearrange and pin/unpin all of your apps” confirmed a Microsoft Teams Engineer.
