There may be some pleasant surprises in store for us with the Apple Watch SE 2

According to Apple product expert Mark Gurman, the Cupertino company will have a very busy finish to the year and start of 2023. If we can anticipate the release of various iPhone 14 variants, new Macs, iPads, or a new generation of AirPods Pro, the Apple Watch SE 2 might be a surprise.

The Cupertino company should continue to provide a variety of linked watches at various pricing points. The S7 processor that powers the Watch Series 7 is now quite similar to the S6 chip that powered the Watch Series 6.

The S8 chip, which should be the core of the Apple Watch Series 8, may have technological traits that are very similar to those of the S7 processor. Regarding the other two Watches that will be released at the end of the year, there should be a new SE watch generation and an athlete-focused model that is more durable.

The Apple Watch Series 3 will not be compatible with the next watchOS 9 upgrade, as was stated during WWDC at the beginning of June. Gurman believes that the Apple Watch SE model might position itself on its current selling price, given that the Series 3 is discontinued.

It is thus very possible to see the SE 2 generation sporting new sensors that were previously only seen in more costly versions. If Apple keeps up the pace and unveils its new watches with the iPhone 14 in September, the answer will be there.
