Best Stocks In 2021 To Invest According to Sectors

0

It would be an understatement to say that 2020 was an interesting year in financial markets. But 2020 is behind us, and we must look to the future. What will be the best action in 2021? Now what comes to our mind is which stocks are likely to perform well in 2021 and 2022. This article is devoted to some fairly best stocks and also explains to you why investing in these stocks in 2021 could well be a wise choice.

Sectors To Focus On In 2021

As for the sectors most affected by the health crisis, everyone agrees that they will need more time to restore their health as their incomes recover. Another sign that stocks in other industries that have performed poorly are expected to rise in 2021, is that tech companies are expected to experience slower earnings growth, which means the time is right. may have come for other sectors to thrive.

Energy and Infrastructure:

The energy sector is undergoing radical change. Alternative and renewable energy sources are particularly on the rise and this trend is expected to continue in 2021. The Europeans are setting an example when it comes to the use of renewable energy and this time around it seems that Americans also stand ready to take the plunge towards a more sustainable world with a Biden administration that intends to invest billions in sustainable energy and infrastructure.

Although wind power and solar power represent only 8% of the electricity used worldwide, this use is expected to increase exponentially over the next few years. According to an investigation report by the IEA (International Energy Agency) nearly 40% of the world’s electricity production should be produced by wind or solar energy by 2040. Investing in companies that produce sustainable energy should arouse the enthusiasm of many investors.

Healthcare:

The health care sector was brutally confronted with the pandemic. You might think COVID-19 is a blessing for businesses in this industry, but for most of them the health crisis has been ruthless. Comfort surgeries (operations planned in advance because there is no medical emergency) generate significant benefits for device manufacturers and hospitals, but many operations have been postponed or canceled due to the coronavirus.

In addition, many people whose elderly have canceled their care to avoid exposure to the coronavirus. Although problems with this virus persist, encouraging progress in vaccine research has raised some optimism among investors. Some businesses may benefit from a return to normal life. There are therefore many stocks in the healthcare sector that could be among the best stocks for 2021.

The Technology Sector:

Technology has clearly shaped modern civilization and the global economy over the past 25 years. Companies are constantly innovating and keep inventing new methods to create new technologies and improvements to make people’s lives easier. In all sectors including healthcare, security or energy, education, airline, technology has helped improve many things. This trend is expected to continue over the next decade. While Wall Street analysts say a slowdown in the growth of many tech companies cannot be ruled out, this should not prevent the sector from being among the best sectors of 2021. Stocks of tech companies will continue to be in high demand. So it’s no surprise that a few stocks in the tech sector are on the 2021 best stocks list.

Financial Sector

Banks are a great indicator for measuring the health of an economy, especially if you are interested in the health of the world’s largest banks such as JPMorgan, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, Credit Suisse, etc. The recovery in the markets has not been favorable to the financial sector, with most companies in this sector lagging behind companies in other sectors. Stocks of companies in the financial sector are currently cheap. Growth or earnings could therefore be conducive to healthy growth in their stocks.

Banks are also a good investment when the economy begins to recover as interest will gradually rise giving them a great opportunity to take advantage of a recovering economy. Most banks also recorded positive results during the peak of the pandemic. The financial sector could therefore be one of the big winners of 2021. Certain stocks of the financial sector should be included in the ranking of the best stocks for 2021.

Customer Retention – Developing a Strong Customer Relationship

0

With the advent of e-commerce, customer relationship management, or CRM for Retail industry, has gained a lot of importance. The success of any business is based on how well the customers perceive it. Customer retention is one vital aspect of this. In the past, retail businesses used to survey the customers after sales to evaluate and measure their satisfaction level. But with the evolution of the internet, businesses are now aware that a more effective communication means of retaining customers is to use customer relationship management software for the retail industry.

With the development of CRM for the retail industry, businesses are able to build a stronger relationship with customers. These companies know that they can gain valuable insights from the customers’ views, feedback and reviews. With the help of customer relationship management software for the retail industry, these companies are able to get a clear picture of customer needs, aspirations and expectations. These insights help businesses plan their strategies effectively and devise strategies that meet the demands and requirements of customers.

A good CRM is able to forecast customer’s needs, desires and expectations in the future. This enables businesses to plan for changes in customers’ behaviors and trends. It also allows businesses to respond appropriately to customers’ changing needs and demands. With such benefits, businesses are definitely looking forward to investing in such tools that help them improve their service to their customers.

With the increasing demand of customer relations management for retail sector, many companies are planning to invest in it. CRM for retail ensures customer loyalty and retention. Its efficacy helps businesses to increase profit levels. CRM can be used for effective communication between a customer and a company. Customer relation management is also referred as customer relationship management.

As more shoppers are making purchases at the comforts of their homes, walk-ins in stores is decreasing. With the same trend, more shoppers are making purchases through online stores. To increase sales, retail companies need to increase visibility, widen their horizons and let their customers have an easy and convenient shopping experience. To do this, they need to create an environment where the customers can easily come and shop.

To enhance customer retention, retail companies need to take care of every aspect. To make this possible, a comprehensive strategy is required. One of the components of a comprehensive strategy is customer relations management. So, apart from planning for increased sales, a good CRM program should also include customer retention aspects.

In the past, a retail outlet has only a handful of customers who could be considered as loyal customers. As more shops get opened, the number of customers grows dynamically. However, as with every customer there are risks involved. If too many customers are lost because of faulty merchandising or poor quality products, then losses will start to mount up. This problem can only be solved by improving customer services and providing excellent retail facilities.

Apart from this, the customers of today are more demanding and discerning. They are also more demanding when it comes to having excellent customer service. They do not like to be pushed around or treated like simple commodities. So, to ensure that retail businesses survive, they need to focus on customer loyalty and on retail facilities that offer them a pleasant shopping experience.

The level of satisfaction that customers feel after using a product also matters a lot. If people don’t like the way the product is packaged, they won’t buy it. It goes the same way in the retail industry. If people are not happy with the customer service provided by a shop assistant or the checkout clerk at the time of purchase, they will not hesitate to avoid that particular store.

Another important aspect of customer relations management is making sure that the products and services sell well. A store with poor display of products will not make money. But a shop which sells stuff which are not appealing to customers will surely earn profit. A store that sells fashionable clothes or fashionable accessories may be popular with customers but may not be popular among other customers. If people do not find the products attractive, then they won’t buy them.

Apart from customer service and product attraction, another factor which plays an important role in customer retention is the store layout. People can easily buy products from a well-chosen location if they are located in an attractive store layout. Store owners should pay special attention to store layout to achieve optimum level of customer retention. At this time of e-commerce, it is very important to move towards Phygital stores– Physical Store with Digital Marketplace. Customers get excellent shopping experience via app and enhances sales by manifold.

In Chrome, there are a few ways to check if a website is safe to visit.

0

According to studies, there are over 20 million unsafe websites on the internet at any given time. These websites are either designed to defraud people online or have been infected with malware. With so many fraudulent website pages on the internet, visitors must evaluate whether a website page is safe to access.

Check if a website is safe to visit.

Double Check the URL

I recommend carefully reading the URL and double-checking the spelling.

Scammers strive to create a webpage that seems just like the legitimate ones to deceive users. However, you should be aware that they can duplicate the layout of a webpage but not the URL. That is why they always attempt to obtain a URL that is misspelled yet appears to be identical to the original.

Cross-checking the URL is our responsibility. Also, never directly click on any link. You have no idea where that link will lead you. Instead of clicking immediately on the link, it is preferable to type it into the browser.

Check Google Transparency Report

Nobody knows more about the internet than Google. It is the company that crawls the entire internet and does over 3 billion searches per day. Google implements the Safe Browsing guidelines to make online browsing safer.

The Safe Browsing status of any website can be easily determined using the Google Transparency report, as follows:

  • Go to Google Transparency Report in your web browser.
  • You’ll see a search box with the statement Check site status.
  • Enter the address of the webpage you’d like to examine. Google will examine its database for a few seconds before displaying the current status.

It is one of the most effective methods for determining the validity of any website.

Check if a site’s connection is secure

The HTTP protocol was used to connect websites in the early days of the Internet. HTTPS was later added for increased security. The letter ‘S’ stands for secure in this case. HTTPS is used by almost every legitimate website on the internet. Follow the steps below to see if a website’s connection is secure.

  • In your browser, go to a webpage.
  • Type your address in the address bar. Look to the left of the URL you just visited. A padlock will appear if the website is secure.
  • To receive more information, tap on the padlock icon, which will bring up a box with information about how secure the connection is. You can also look up whose entity issued the security certificate by clicking on the Certificate.

If a website is not secure, instead of padlock, you will see an info icon (ℹ) with a Not secure message or a warning (⚠️ ) icon with a Not secure or dangerous message. You must be careful while entering any personal or payment-related details on such sites.

It is simple to verify the legitimacy of a website. Most of the time, simply reading the URL will give you a good notion of what the site is about. If you have any doubts, check the site’s current status using the Google Transparency report.

Finally, determine whether or not the website’s connection is secure. You can quickly determine if a webpage is safe to access or not using Google Chrome or any other browser by following these three simple steps.

How to Protect Your History and Other Data in Google Chrome with a Password Lock.

0

Every website you visit is saved in your browsing history. Furthermore, you may have bookmarks and other private information that anyone with access to the browser can access. Some of you may have considered adding a password to Google Chrome, however there is currently no such option.

However, several extensions available on the Chrome Webstore allow you to add password protection to Chrome. Here’s how to use Google Chrome’s password lock feature to protect your browser history and other information.

Set Password Lock in Google Chrome

Steps to Add LockPW

To get to the LockPW extensions page, click this link. Alternatively, you may look for it in the Chrome Web Store.

  • Click Add to Chrome on the extension’s page. A page will open in a new tab once the extension has been installed. Here you’ll learn how the extension works and how to prevent Chrome from utilizing it on the website. You can read it before moving on to the next step.
  • By pressing the next button, you’ll be sent to the Additional settings page. The password will be entered in a box on the right side for the first time.
  • I’ve input both the password and the password hint, as you can see. Finally, save your changes, and the password protection will be enabled. If you wish to disable the protection, simply press the power button, and it will be disabled.
  • Additional options include Auto lock, logging, hotkeys, and many others.

How LockPW Works?

The lockPW extensions will begin operating once you have added the extension and specified a password. When you launch the browser now, it will prompt you for your password before allowing you to access any pages.

If you’ve already set up a password, LockWP will prompt you for it when it starts up. However, you can use the basic keyboard commands to block the browser while using it. To lock the browser, click CTRL + Shift + L on Windows or Command + Shift + L on Mac.

It’s not as difficult as you would assume to lock Google Chrome. All you have to do is install the LockPW Chrome extension and create a password. Chrome will now prompt you for your password every time you open it. This is how you can use Google Chrome to create a password. I hope this information is useful to you. Hey, Xiaomi: This ingenious notebook can we have in Kenya too?

0

Xiaomi does not only offer smartphones: the Chinese manufacturer is a real jack of all trades and has a wide range of products on offer – including notebooks. The Mi Notebook Pro X has now made its debut and offers top-class equipment for comparatively little money. However, Kenyan customers are left empty-handed. Why?

In addition to smartphones, e-scooters, fitness trackers, and even pots, Xiaomi is also present in the notebook market. The latest notebook of the electronics group listens to the name Mi Notebook Pro X and has now been presented. It should be available in the Chinese domestic market as early as July.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro X with OLED display, strong Intel processors, and Nvidia graphics

Externally, the Mi Notebook Pro X is based on previous Xiaomi notebooks and thus continues the design language reduced to the essentials. Under the hood, however, Xiaomi lets it crash and installs hardware that belongs to the crème de la crème. This includes above all the OLED display, which comes to a diagonal of 15.6 inches and resolves with 3,456 x 2,160 pixels. The refresh rate is 60 Hz, the maximum brightness is given as 600 nits. Important for photographers, for example, The screen covers 100 percent of the sRGB and DCI-P3 color space. Gorilla Glass protects the display, Android Authority reports, citing Weibo.

Buyers have the choice between two processors from Intel’s new Tiger Lake generation: Once the Core i7-11370H with up to 4.8 GHz is available, once the Core i5-11300H with up to 4.4 GHz. In both trim levels, the Nvidia RTX 3050Ti is also included. The i7 model has 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. The model with the i5 comes with 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD. The speakers of the Xiaomi laptop support DTS audio and have a fine-tuning of Harman. The Mi Notebook Pro X has an 80-watt battery on board.

Will Xiaomi also launch the laptop outside of China?

From July 9, the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro X will be available in the colour Space Gray in China. Prices start at the equivalent of around KES 133,004 for the i5 model and go up to 166,255 KSH for the variant with the Core i7. Whether Xiaomi will also launch the laptop outside of China is unknown, but it would be desirable, given the excellent price-performance ratio.

Zoom prepares for machine translation by buying an AI company

0

In a press release, Zoom, the partner in teleworking and lockdown visions, announces the acquisition of Kites, a German start-up specializing in instant translation.

Who has never dreamed of speaking all languages? There is always something fantastic about watching a person “switch” in no time. Zoom should soon allow everyone to break down language barriers all over the world (or almost).

Kites boast 56 years of collective R&D experience in AI and linguistic processes

Kites Gmbh is a German start-up founded in 2015 by Dr. Sebastian Stüker. The idea developed by the company is to succeed in recognizing a language by its finest specificities and to succeed in translating it with the lowest possible latency.

In addition to revisiting Zoom’s desire to offer a better service to their users, Velchamy Sankarlingam, Zoom’s president of product and engineering, says that the alignment of missions between Zoom and Kites allows for smooth collaboration to break down language, geography, or anything else related to it. However, a good speech should be taken with caution since the press release specifies that the content is part of a general will without committing itself.

So, while waiting for the possible advent of integrating AI-stamped Kites on the Zoom platform, there are alternatives if you are too impatient without being too demanding. Slatch, a French start-up, offers an instant messaging application that integrates live translation.

HP unveils its AERO 13, the lightest and most affordable OLED ultraportable to date

Telkom is therefore making this commitment to empower Kenyans with this digital independence that they seek; giving them easier access to essential technology services that continue to simplify our lifestyles.”

The use of Mobile Internet Data continues to grow, with the customer demanding for more competitive and comprehensive products that address their different and ever changing needs: browsing, downloading, streaming, mobile money transactions, reading the news online, and updating their apps; actions that are now very important to everyday life. The development of new products and solutions, therefore, will ensure that the customer, who is keen on the next best offer, will be able to benefit from offers that broaden and simplify their digital lifestyles.

Earlier this year, Mr. KIBATI said that Telkom remains cognisant of the integral role the technology company’s core terrestrial network plays in keeping customers connected.

“We continue with our long-term terrestrial network expansion plan that is informed by our overall company strategy, which will see us scale up to 80% of our network to 4G, increase our network footprint across the country, and get more Kenyans online.”

In May, Telkom announced the integration of T-kash with the government digital services platform, eCitizen. This integration with the eCitizen Portal will enable Telkom customers to make payments for a number of services including those offered by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA); Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Business Registration Service, Immigration Services, Civil Registration Department, Office of the Attorney General, Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), and the National Construction Authority.

Nigeria’s MDaaS Global raises $2.3m to launch SentinelX, its digital health solution across the country

0

MDaaS Global, a healthtech company building and operating a network of modern, tech-enabled diagnostic centers across Nigeria, has raised $2.3 million to launch ‘SentinelX’, a digital health membership that champions preventive, personalized, and continuous care using proprietary technology.

MDaas Global says the $2.3m is a seed extension led by Newtown Partners via the Imperial Venture Fund, with participation from CRI Foundation, FINCA Ventures, Techstars, and Future Africa, among others.

The extension brings MDaaS Global’s total funding to date to $3.7 million; in addition to the launch of SentinelX, this new funding will see the company rapidly scale its physical footprint across Nigeria to become the largest diagnostic chain in the country.

According to Oluwasoga Oni, MDaaS Global’s CEO and Co-Founder, “Unrestricted access to quality healthcare has always been our principal objective and the pandemic has compelled us to consider innovative ways of offering more proactive care. This additional funding will propel our growth as we look to serve more people and in more ways.”

Set to be launched in September 2021, SentinelX combines a human touch – which is still needed, with advanced technology to provide faster, easier healthcare solutions for Nigerians. The platform makes preventive care more accessible and affordable to pave way for lowering overall medical costs for patients as well as improving their health outcomes in the long run.

Since its founding, MDaaS Global has focused on increasing access to critical diagnostic services for underserved and geographically challenged communities. SentinelX builds on that mission by democratizing access not only to technology-enabled primary care but also to comprehensive preventive care that helps members identify and address health risks before they become problems. SentinelX operates as an annual subscription-based membership starting at just N35,000 [approx. $7 a month].

Over the past two decades, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), also referred to as lifestyle diseases, have risen dramatically in sub-Saharan Africa, driven by a growing incidence of cardiovascular risk factors like unhealthy diets, reduced physical activity, hypertension, and diabetes. And by 2030, NCDs are set to become the leading cause of mortality on the continent. SentinelX is poised to tackle this challenge head-on and empower members to take control of their long-term health.

To do this, the SentinelX membership includes a comprehensive diagnostic screening to give members a 360-degree view of their current health status and identify potential health issues early. It also has a customized Care Plan designed to address each member’s specific risk factors and personal health goals, from reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease to improving energy levels.

SentinelX also has a 24/7 ongoing support from the Care Team for primary as well as urgent care (via the SentinelX mobile app, phone-based support, and in-person visits). It also has access to dieticians and fitness coaches to support members with lifestyle changes and simplifies navigating the Nigerian healthcare ecosystem, from specialist referrals to answering questions about health insurance.

Currently in private beta and with a speedily growing waitlist, prospective members can register via the website to schedule their diagnostic screening which looks at more than 65 unique biomarkers to assess individual risk for a wide range of diseases, including cancers, diabetes, kidney disease, and heart diseases. Clinical and family history as well as demographic data are also taken into consideration as part of the comprehensive analysis. Screenings are carried out at MDaaS-owned facilities, expediting a cost-efficient medical process for patients and effectively allowing the company to manage the full lifecycle and health journey of its customers. Members receive monthly check-in calls from their dedicated Care Team to monitor progress, make adjustments to their Care Plans, and supply answers to questions that may arise – providing patients with a holistic and proactive approach to their healthcare.

Llew Claasen, Managing Partner at Newtown Partners believes, “Most consumers in sub-Saharan Africa receive suboptimal medical care because of infrastructure gaps, low physician density, delays in diagnostics, and a lack of health data visibility. We think the physical diagnostic infrastructure that MDaaS is building out, coupled with the means to collect data and deliver value-added software services, has the potential to completely change the way that physicians, clinicians and pharmacists do their jobs and lead to better health outcomes for a huge number of previously underserved consumers.”

Founded in 2017 by Oluwasoga Oni, Opeyemi Ologun, Genevieve Barnard Oni, and Joseph McCord, MDaaS Global has launched 7 centers in Ibadan, Ilorin, Osogbo, Lagos, and Abuja, with plans to expand to 6 new cities in 2021. To date, the healthcare company has provided diagnostic services to over 40,000 patients in underserved communities, and following its seed round in 2019, has grown its staff capacity to over 70. The company has also performed over 80,000 diagnostics tests across cardiology, radiology, neurology, laboratory, and general health checks.

MDaaS has expanded its referral network to include over 750 clinicians and has partnered with over 500 health facilities and 10 HMO networks. By 2025, the company aims to operate 100 centers across the continent and serve 1 million patients per year.

Through SentinelX, MDaaS aims to put the ‘health’ back in healthcare for Africa’s next billion, on a continent where healthcare has been focused almost exclusively on treating diseases rather than preventing them in the first place.

Google Working To Improve The Integrity Of The Play Store By Adding New Restrictions

0

Google is working to improve the integrity of the Play Store by adding new restrictions.

Google is working to improve the integrity of the Play Store by adding new restrictions and protections to developer accounts. Google Play Store developers will soon have to verify their email address, phone number and provide additional details, such as a physical address, in an effort to increase security and ensure that accounts are created by “real people.”

Developers should also use two-step verification. The search giant says it’s making the changes “to keep Google Play safe and secure and to better serve our developer community,” and to “ensure that every account is created by a real person with real contact information.”

The record reports:

That the announcement coincides with the emergence of a cottage industry of merchants that will create large numbers of developer accounts that others can use to upload malware and other scammy apps to the Play Store.

A screenshot of a cybercrime forum post published by The record shows that these accounts sell for $89 each. “To keep Google Play safe and secure and to better serve our developer community”

Will it make it harder for scammers?

Meanwhile, the two-step verification requirement should make it harder for scammers to break into and steal legitimate developer accounts. It reflects a similar change that the search giant announced earlier this year for regular Google accounts, where it will now enable two-factor authentication by default.

The changes are significant compared to Google’s current developer account policy, which only requires new logins to provide an email address and phone number. Details such as a physical address “will not be made public,” the company says, and is intended solely to “help us confirm and communicate your identity.”

Google is introducing the new requirements in phases.

It says that starting today, account owners will have the option to set their account type as personal or business and verify their contact information. Then, in August, all new sign-ups must follow the same steps when creating their accounts and using two-step verification. “Later this year” the changes will be fully implemented for all existing accounts.

The changes come amid a wider crackdown on scammy apps in the Play Store, barring developers from using cheap tactics in their listings to encourage installs. App listings can no longer use eye-catching features like capitalization or emoji in their titles, or include phrases like “download now.”

Kenya Government To Increase Excise Duty That Will Affect Internet And Airtime Cost

Kenya Government is proposing to increase excise duty that will affect internet and airtime cost.

How much money do you use on airtime in a month? Once you’ve answered that, think about the millions of people who rely on the internet especially since the pandemic started, you’re probably one of them if you’re reading this. Internet and airtime are both necessities in the average Kenyan household.

The Government has eyed every sector starting from social media influencers and now MPs have proposed an increase in excise duty on airtime and data from the current 15% to 20%. As per the calculations this would mean that they would be able to raise KSh 8 billion from Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom Kenya.

Will the President accept?

The MPs have made their proposal however the President is the one who can implement this new suggested taxes that could instantly make bank loans, internet access and mobile phone calls costlier than they already are.

President Kenyatta could either accept or reject the new proposed taxes as the ball is now on his court. Let’s not forget that the government took out 15% VAT on bread and though it was a relief for many it seems we can never catch a break. Let’s not forget that this proposal was not in the Finance bill so we wonder what happened between then and now.

Tough economical times ahead.

Before the pandemic joblessness and poverty was still existent however after the pandemic crime and other mental disorders are on the rise. If this proposal is passed it means that there will be a reduced usage of internet which helps millions of Kenyans connect to employment and education. As we’re trying to be a tech savvy country this move will not aid the youth in exploiting their online opportunities.

We can’t also fail to ignore the countless young people who rely on the internet to make a living, the ones who cannot afford to pay for a monthly WiFi package but rely on hourly bundles and if this is passed then that changes their budgets too, so what next?

Other expenses.

A majority of Kenyans are barely surviving and the government is targeting any service they can sniff money from, be it the gaming industry, the betting and lottery tax which will go up from 20% to 30% and let’s not forget that there’s a proposed fuel increase. Question is, what will the common mwananchi do? where will they eat from? people are already living in debt, some have suffered salary cuts and now the government wants to affect our sin taxes too, basically alcohol, cigarettes and even basic commodities. When does it all end?

WhatsApp Is Rolling Out A Feature That Will Allow Media To Only Be Viewed Once

WhatsApp is rolling out a feature that will only allow media to be viewed once.

WhatsApp is rolling out its View Once feature that will allow users to send media photos or videos that can be viewed once and will disappear once it has been viewed.

After they have been watched once, they cannot be viewed again. It is similar to the expiring media Snapchat first featured wherein users can view photos and videos once after which they expire. When the feature goes live, users will see a clock-like icon next to the “add a caption” bar selecting which users can send views once or expiring photos to contacts.

It is not clear if WhatsApp will also allow users to replay pictures and videos as in Snapchat.

However, if users disable read receipts, the recipient will still be able to see if users have opened the photo or video set to view once. However, the sender will not be able to see when the recipient has opened the media. Users can see when other participants open expiring photos even if you have disabled read receipts in groups.

The feature is rolling out for beta testers and is compatible with Android users with the 2.21.14.3 version, features tracker WaBetaInfo reported sharing screenshots that reveal users will be able to send expiring media by taking live snaps or choosing photos from their gallery.

Don’t forget about the disappearing messages as well.

WhatsApp rolled out Disappearing messages in November that disappear within seven days from the time when they are sent. The setting does not affect previously sent or received messages.

While in an individual chat, either user can turn disappearing messages on or off, in a group chat, only group admins have the control to turn disappearing messages on or off. While the disappearing messages are already live for users, parent company Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently spoke about unveiling the disappearing mode for WhatsApp.

It’s more like Snapchat than Instagram.

However, the feature being rolled out currently is closer to the Snapchat-like expiring media which disappear as soon as they are seen.

Instagram also allows users to send view-once photos. WhatsApp is slated to roll out other features soon like multi-device support with end-to-end encryption. The feature lets users log in to a single WhatsApp account using multiple devices. Currently, you can log in to a single account using your phone and computer, but the feature once enabled will let you use multiple devices at the same time.

LinkedIn Has Reportedly Exposed The Data Of Around 700 Million Of Its Users

LinkedIn has now reportedly exposed the data of around 700 million of its users.

LinkedIn has experienced the second massive data breach this year that has now reportedly exposed the data of around 700 million of its users. The breached data includes online and physical addresses, geolocation records as well as inferred salaries of the users and is now up for sale on the dark web.

It is being reported that the data breach affected more than 92 per cent of all LinkedIn users. Recently, it came to light as a user of a popular hacker forum online posted an advertisement for the data from 700 million LinkedIn users on June 22.

What was the information for?

The user tried to sell the information online, and for this, he/ she also posted a sample of the data breach. Data of a total of 1 million LinkedIn users are contained within the sample, as confirmed in a report by RestorePrivacy.

A recent report by the publication confirms that the data advertised by the hacker “is both genuine and up-to-date,” with data points dating from 2020 to 2021. The report further mentions that the breached data contains a plethora of information. Some of this includes users’ full names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses as well as geolocation records.

What kind of information was shared?

Other such leaked data points include LinkedIn username and profile URL, personal and professional background, and even the mentions of users’ other social media accounts and usernames.

RestorePrivacy also reports that the hacker got hold of the data by exploiting the LinkedIn API. The vulnerability allowed the hacker to harvest the information that people upload to the site.

What’s the risk?

Although no passwords have been leaked in the data breach, the data points are still very valuable, as these can further be used in online phishing attempts that imitate someone else.

This is the second such breach of its kind, compromising the data of LinkedIn users. Data of around 500 million was stolen through the very same vulnerability from LinkedIn earlier in April. At the time, LinkedIn acknowledged the data breach, stating that the breach involved publicly viewable profile data that scraped from Linkedin.

Though the recent data breach is on the same lines and makes use of the same vulnerability, the company is yet to issue a statement on the mishap.

Benefits of VPN For Work From Home Employees

0

We all know that remote work isn’t going anywhere soon.

Companies are adopting the new normal and a new way to work.

That being said, investing in a good VPN service for your work-from-home employees is the need of the hour. Whether it’s the best free VPN for Mac, good VPNs for content streaming, or reliable VPNs for work from home employees, ensuring security and privacy is a must in all cases.

But before counting on any VPN connections, it’s necessary to understand their benefits first.

Let’s start with the “why” first.

Why Do Your Work From Home Employees Need A VPN?

As per help net security, 68% of employees say that their company extended VPN usage due to COVID-19.

Also, 29% say their organization started using a VPN for the first time. These stats show that we are all pretty naive in the VPN world.  Even for the work-from-home employees, the growing technology and security space is a new thing.

Your remote employees need to share files or may require access to geo-restricted content for the company.  One secured VPN connection can help do it all.

  1. Private Data Protection

As per Entrepreneur, 91% of global respondents reported an increase in cyber-attacks since the pandemic started.

That implies that the need to guard remote workers and company information against online attacks is vital. Working remotely does increase the vulnerability of employees to hackers and third parties.

For this reason, a VPN connection helps you to increase your productivity. It multiplies your time by taking privacy matters into its hands. Ultimately, it reduces your efforts and allows your employees to focus on work.

  1. Device Protection

We can agree that when you’re working from home, your technological devices, be it a laptop or phone, aren’t as protected as they needed to be.

When you use a good VPN connection at home, it eliminates security concerns whether you’re working from your home, a cafe, shopping malls, or any transport hubs.

This is where a good VPN acts like a shield. It not only detects the hackers or sprayers but tricks them into rerouting the traffic and encrypting all the data, so nothing is lost or misplaced.

  1. Access To Internal Systems

Forbes mentions that organizations give away the entire access of their systems to their vendors in today’s cloud environment. This is a clear invitation to malware and hackers in your system.

As for your work-from-home employees, having a good VPN connection can solve this issue and restrict access to the internal system from an anonymous third party.

VPNs help your employees to connect to different resources and access control. Different users can have different levels of access to the data. This also means that any unauthorized user could view or alter confidential data, resulting in a data breach.

That’s why access control and management are crucial for protecting and securing corporate data. A VPN is the one-stop guide that can handle all these issues.

  1. Reduce Liabilities

Remote working is a security risk in many ways, and you’re reliable for every mishap.

Whether it’s password issues, third parties content access, or any third-party interference, you’ve to handle your work plus the security of the process.

But a secured VPN connection can help you focus more on work and less on other things.

Since encrypted connections cannot be altered, your password remains safe, and data is protected from any third-party breach.

Features To Look For While Choosing A VPN For Employees

Before choosing a VPN for work-from-home employees, make sure you know all you need to know about VPNs for secured and more hassle-free usage.

We know that VPN is famous for security and maintaining privacy. This means that it’s better to have an additional layer of security that can protect your data from any malicious identity.

Two-factor authentication is one such feature that protects your password. This means once you have entered your registered password, the account will ask you to identify yourself by asking for a code.

The advantage of this code is that it’s generated within the app on a scrolling timer and expires every ninety seconds. If someone wants to access it, they require your express permission to open it.

It acts like a text message-based verification (the code). And even if a cybercriminal acquires your password and tries to access your account, he will need to have physical access to your device as well.

  1. Strong Encryption

A good VPN helps employees protect company and customer data with a strong encryption method. It encrypts the traffic and scrambles it so no one can understand it. In a way, this prevents your data from being compromised.

  1. Reliability

It’s good to consider how you can provide your remote employees an extra layer of protection. And for this purpose, a reliable VPN connection is all you will ever need.

Few factors to consider before choosing a reliable VPN.

It should include:

  • Military-Grade Encryption System
  • Great connection Speed
  • Unlimited Data Transmission
  • A good firewall
  • Multiple Device Support
  • Worldwide Servers
  • VPN Blocking system

A clear checklist will eliminate all your confusion.

Conclusion

To conclude, a VPN eliminates unnecessary insecurities among your employees, and this, in turn, boosts your company output.

The best way to make the most of this time is by prioritizing your organization’s security and privacy before anything else.

No one wants their or their employee’s efforts to go in vain, and that’s where a good VPN protects your work-from-home employee’s data and handles other security issues.

How Tech Companies Can Incentivise A New Generation Of Consumers

0

The tech industry has dominated since the turn of the millennium, with the internet’s rise to mainstream viability and appeal inarguably changing the world. It’s due to the revolutionary levels of global interconnectivity that the COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t proven significantly more disruptive than it has (things have been bad, but they could have been so much worse).

Today, with national economies shaky but the tech landscape more vital than ever before, we’re seeing new tech companies founded at an unprecedented rate. The opportunity is there, of course, as there’s enough demand for many businesses to coexist — but the proliferation of options allows consumers to be extremely picky about how they spend their money.

This means that tech companies need to work hard to win new customers, and even harder to earn their lasting loyalty. How can they achieve this? Well, the key concern is incentivization — and in this post we’re going to consider how they can use incentives to convince a new generation of consumers. Let’s get started.

Use compelling motivators such as ticking clocks

Tech companies need to accept that even the most sophisticated consumer technology no longer feels novel, and that isn’t going to change until a truly revolutionary product comes along. In the meantime, then, they need to look for other ways in which they can drive conversions, and the best route involves drawing from the classic sales playbook. After all, there’s no value in reinventing the wheel for the sake of it, is there?

And of all the motivators online businesses use, there’s nothing more consistently effective than a ticking clock. Whether you’re browsing Amazon’s latest lightning deals or considering your dream life while eyeing online lottery tickets at lotto247.com, having a ticking clock to remind you that an offer won’t be around forever is immensely effective at pushing you to take action instead of waiting until you’ve made a more reasoned decision.

You can also induce FOMO (fear of missing out) by listing dwindling stock levels and offering timed discounts. You shouldn’t fabricate scarcity if it isn’t there, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make it abundantly clear that buying now is going to be more practical than buying later.

Focus on having competitive welcome offers and trials

More often than not, modern tech companies concentrate on service-based models. Even hardware sellers are now going down that route. The more complicated tech systems get, the more important it is for them to be routine, and renting laptops through a supported service is easier (and potentially cheaper) than periodically buying new machines outright.

The thing with service-based systems, though, is that they require big commitments. Paying on a monthly basis is standard, but it isn’t so rare for a company to ask for a year’s subscription upfront. For some tech services, a year’s subscription can be a lot of money to pay, so it’s all about clearing that first hurdle. Companies that get people signed up can easily keep them.

This is where welcome offers and trials come in. A welcome bonus is all about softening the blow of long-term investment by granting short-term rewards, while a free trial is (as the name suggests) about giving the customer a chance to try something before they pay for it. It’s true that there are pros and cons to the latter (as there are to the former, it bears noting: you can offer too much value upfront if you’re not careful), but that just means you need to use it smartly.

Optimize their customer service platforms

It often gets overlooked as a core concern, but it’s clear that customer service can make or break a tech company. Before they sign up to services, prospective users want to know what kind of support they’ll be given. How can they reach out? What topics can they ask about? How quickly will their queries be answered? Is there a limit on how much time they can take up?

When you’re going to be using a service every day for years (and it’s likely to form part of the foundation of your entire operation), it’s obviously essential that you know you can rely on it. The best customer service platforms span business websites, service portals, and social media profiles: wherever someone mentions an issue with your service, you should pick it up.

This comes down to more than stats, though. As nice as it is to say “99% of customer queries are answered within an hour”, it’s better to put the emphasis on customer testimonials. Having a satisfied user provide a glowing endorsement speaking of how helpful and knowledgeable your support assistants have been will greatly incentivize people to sign up.

Frequently roll out experimental new features

Service stability is great, but it’s also a standard. Every decent system has a 99.9% uptime guarantee and can be relied upon in most use cases. If you want to stand out, a great incentive is the steady release of experimental features. While your rivals wait until major patches to embrace new technologies and options, you can empower your users significantly earlier.

This isn’t without risks, of course, because experimental features are inevitably buggy — and buggy software leads to unhappy users. This is why you need to be extremely careful with your presentation. Maintain a stable version of your service, then allow users to manually select a beta version with experimental features (Google does this to great effect).

Think about the concerns that go into long-term tech commitments. One of the core worries will involve a lack of innovation: no one wants to be left behind because the software system they’re using is updated very slowly. Committing to a bleeding-edge approach to tech innovation will give people a great reason to choose your service.

5 ways to stay safe when using power tools

0

Power tools make building, DIY, and skilled labour much simpler and quicker – it’s why they’re so crucial to any site. There are power tools for every job, but one thing reigns true across all of them: it’s crucial you use them safely. To keep yourself stay safe from harm, we’ve brought together the five following tips that should always be followed when getting the job done with power tools.

Never leave them on standby

When you’re waist-deep in a big project using a number of different power tools, it can be tempting to bob one down without thinking and pick up another straight away. This can be a dangerous habit, as even if you leave the tool on standby, it’s still powered up, and could jump into action at a moment’s notice or be accidentally broken, potentially electrocuting nearby users.

Instead, unplug all power tools you are not using off at the mains and store them properly to protect them from damage.

Wear adequate PPE

According to research from 2019, hand and upper extremity (arm) injuries were the most common among those injured by power tools, with electric saws being the most dangerous. As such, personal protective equipment is crucial, including eyewear, strong boots, and heavy-duty gloves that will ensure you are protected in the case of accidents.

Use dust extractors

Power tools can throw up significant volumes of dust – from sanding, sawing, chiseling or otherwise. If this dust gets into your lungs, it can be extremely harmful, and it can also damage and degrade the components within power tools themselves. As such, as well as wearing a mask in dusty environments, set up dust extractors to safely remove the source of risk from your work area.

Inspect your tools

While your chosen power tool may have been working perfectly the last time you used it, it may have become damaged or faulty during transport, or simply being left in storage. To stop yourself from being harmed by a faulty, dangerous tool, inspect it thoroughly before each use in line with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Keep your environment safe

Many jobs that call for the use of power tools come with various environmental hazards as standard. That includes loose cabling and wires from the tools themselves, slippery floors from oil and water, or multiple workers moving through the environment at any one time. All these can cause slippages, tripping hazards, and the danger of bumping into others while using power tools – all of which can cause injury.

To stop this from happening, make sure to regularly sweep and clean up flooring, and be sure that there are thoroughfares where people can safely travel around the site without getting in the way of others.

Tokyo: Asia’s Next Cryptocurrency Trading Center

The rise of cryptocurrency worldwide has been a phenomenon throughout the past decade. Most countries have switched to using cryptocurrency as an alternative to the typical currency that depends on cash. Japan is one of these countries that would like to embrace the influence of cryptocurrency by trying to make Tokyo one of the world’s crypto trading centers.

Tokyo, tagged as one of the world’s mega metropoles, prepares itself to become one of the world’s busiest cryptocurrency centers. Most experts expected Japan to stick with the old school currency using money, but Japan proved that it does not wish to become left behind in the cryptocurrency trend. Bitcoin casino shares the same eagerness to deliver the best cryptocurrency-based casino experience to players worldwide and provide a new generation of betting using the number one cryptocurrency in the world.

Japan is constantly becoming an area of interest for the cryptocurrency industry, and most of the politicians in the capital is looking to strengthen it. A member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly hopes to transform the Japanese capital into a cryptocurrency “commercial center” that can match New York City and London. Japan believes that the use of cryptocurrencies in daily life in Tokyo shows that blockchain is an opportunity to improve all sectors of the Japanese economy.

Yuu Ito, a member of the third parliament in question, commented on the possibility of supporting the city’s financial industry by increasing participation in the digital asset business.

The statement was issued after Tokyo assembly members recently supported the economic plan announced by Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike. Ito also pointed out the challenges that Tokyo faces when competing with other major financial centers such as London, Macau and Hong Kong. He believes that the high tax rate of Bitcoin (BTC) may prevent investors and companies from being active in Japan. Significant actions are needed to promote the development of the industry in the country.

Tokyo should create new financial resources by establishing wealth creation technologies like blockchain as a growth strategy.

Therefore, Japanese lawmakers in Tokyo also proposed a healthy tax environment for cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin adoption has exploded globally, but it has raised concerns about how politicians will handle the matter. One of the members urgently outlined the actions needed for Tokyo to become the most-watched cryptocurrency trading hub.

Politicians should now resolve the monetary policy and fiscal issues surrounding Bitcoin. If you do it in the countryside, you will lose your sense of speed, so a particular zone is established in Tokyo, and it is used in the city without taxes. The essential job of a politician is to identify problems as he runs and systematically eliminate them effecctively.

Tokyo lawmakers also emphasized that the coronavirus is an opportunity to accelerate policy adaptation and adoption while creating a healthy environment for developing crypto trading centers in Tokyo.

When Japan had to reverse its economy, Japanese lawmakers needed to establish a mechanism to prevent the loss of funds. For this, virtual currency and blockchain can be used. Because many people are aware of this cryptocurrency trend in time, most of the Tokyo legislators believe that it is necessary to accelerate.

Japan is a world leader in developing the cryptocurrency market, the latest global buzzword, some of which have skyrocketed in value in the past year.

According to coinhills.com data, as of January 15, the yen accounted for 56.2% of Bitcoin or BTC, the most popular cryptocurrency. The Japanese yen is closely followed by the US dollar, accounting for 28.4%, and all other currencies accounting for 15.4%. The renminbi was the largest until January 2017 but fell after the country imposed strict restrictions on cryptocurrency transactions.

There are no statistics available to show the Japanese yen’s dominance among all types of cryptocurrencies. According to coinmarketcap.com data, as of January 15, BTC accounted for 32.8% of the market value of all cryptocurrencies, making BTC the largest among at least 1,000 existing cryptocurrencies. Midori Kanemitsu, Chief Financial Officer of Cryptocurrency Exchange, the largest exchange operator from Japan, stated that Japan ranked first in the robust legal system that supports the industry to build credibility among individual investors and Japanese people’s familiarity with securities trading. degree. , bitFlyer Inc.

0

During the Zoom conference, you might want to share a video file or a YouTube video with other attendees. However, many people may find it challenging and perplexing. Thankfully, it’s a simple process that anyone with a rudimentary understanding of Zoom can do. This article will show you how to share video files or YouTube movies in Zoom meetings in three simple methods.

In Zoom Meetings on PC and Phone, you can share video files or YouTube videos.

In a Zoom meeting, you can share a video in a variety of ways. If it’s a YouTube video, you can either share the URL or use Screen Share to stream the video in the meeting. If you have an offline video file, you can share the screen or transfer the movie directly into the conference. The three ways are described below.

Share Video Using Screen Share

On PC

Share or Stream a Video from Your Computer

  • Join a meeting using the Zoom app on your desktop.
  • During the meeting, go to the bottom of the screen and select Share Screen.
  • Select Advanced from one top to share or stream video from your PC.
  • Tap Share after selecting Video and checking the Sound box in the bottom corner.
  • Install the plugin if prompted to.
  • Now, select the video file from your computer to begin sharing it in the meeting.

That’s it. Zoom will now start streaming the video in the meeting.

Onboard controls can be used to play, pause, and seek to a specific place. At any point, you can silence the video completely. Hovering your mouse over the top of the screen will reveal more meeting controls.

Share a Video from YouTube

  • Check to see if you’re in the Basic tab.
  • Select the browser tab that contains your YouTube video from the drop-down menu.
  • Make sure the Basic tab is selected.
  • Choose the tab in which your YouTube video is playing.
  • Also, make sure the Share sound box in the bottom left is checked.
  • Now you can share the YouTube video with others in the Zoom meeting by playing it.

On Phone

  • Join the meeting using the Zoom app on your phone.
  • Tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen during the meeting.
  • Choose Screen from the list of choices.
  • When requested, grant Zoom access to display and record over the screen.
  • Now launch the YouTube app and start watching the video you wish to share.
  • Make the movie full-screen by enabling Share Audio from the floating toolbar.

In a meeting, send a video file

On PC

  • During a meeting, go to the bottom of the page and click Chat.
  • Select who you want to send the video to from the three-dot menu.
  • Select Your Computer from the File menu in the bottom right corner. You may also share videos from Dropbox, Google Drive, and other cloud storage services.
  • Finally, select the video from your drive and tap Open.
  • Zoom will deliver the video file to the meeting’s targeted participants through chat.
  • Other participants will be able to download and watch the movie on their own devices now.

On Phone

Zoom’s mobile app does not appear to provide file sharing over chat. Instead, you can use systems like Google Drive or Dropbox to upload and distribute the movie.

In Zoom Chat, provide a YouTube video link.

On PC

  • Copy the link from the YouTube video.
  • Open the Zoom video call that is currently in progress.
  • At the bottom of the page, tap the Chat button.
  • Copy the video URL and send it to the other participants.

On Phone

  • Copy the YouTube video link you want to share.
  • During a meeting, go to the bottom right and click the More button.
  • Choose Chat from the list of choices.
  • Copy the video URL and distribute it to the rest of the attendees.

During a Zoom meeting, there are three ways to share video files or YouTube movies with others. You can use whichever technique is most convenient for you.

Just like OPPO, Xiaomi is working on its roll-up smartphone

0

Xiaomi has patented a roll-up screen technology on both sides for smartphones.

While OPPO has already presented a prototype smartphone with a roll-up screen, Samsung has formalized the ongoing development of such a device, and TCL would also work on mobile of this kind. It is the turn of Xiaomi to take a close interest in this technology.

Expandable and retractable on both sides

The Chinese manufacturer has filed a patent describing a roll-up screen system in a smartphone. And the manufacturer seems to be exploring options that OPPO has not retained for its 2021 X Rollable.

Unlike the latter, which took place on one side only, Xiaomi’s idea is to allow the deployment of the screen on both sides of the device. The camera is then housed in the center of the rear panel, with the modules positioned vertically, as seen on many models a few years ago, before all brands deported the photo block to the upper left corner.

A Screen with Mi Mix Alpha, but rollable

The screen would expand and then go around the smartphone, overflowing wide on the back of the mobile. Xiaomi has been thinking for a long time about such a design, already seen on the Mi Mix Alpha, whose screen covered the slices and a good surface from the back, but this time without the slab being rollable.

The mechanism would be based on two engines whose role would be to extend and retract the screen. At this point, it’s just a patent, which only means that Xiaomi has had an idea that it wants to protect. Such a design will not necessarily be implemented in the long term in a product marketed to the public. We can bet that the manufacturer is testing many other alternatives exploiting the technology of the roll-up screen.

HarmonyOS: Huawei attracts customers with popular classic games

0

With HarmonyOS, the Chinese manufacturer Huawei now has a real Android competitor. To convince users of a change, there is now a classic game on the new platform. Angry Birds 2 is available with all sorts of digital accessories as a free app in Huawei’s AppGallery. The manufacturer has also thought about its smartwatches.

Huawei: Angry Birds 2 for free in the AppGallery

About six years after the first release, Huawei has launched its variant of Angry Birds 2 in cooperation with Rovio. The formerly top-rated game is now available in the in-house AppGallery and can be played on devices that rely on HarmonyOS as their operating system. Angry Birds 2 can be seen as an attempt to convince users to switch from Android to HarmonyOS. Time will tell whether this can succeed.

If you opt for the free Angry Birds 2 for HarmonyOS shortly, you will receive a few goodies or discounts. At the first in-app purchase, users are reimbursed 50 percent of their costs as part of a cashback campaign. For further purchases, there is a discount of at least 20 percent.

Huawei: Angry Birds 2 with themes and watch faces

In addition to the game itself, there are still many accessories for Angry Birds 2 in the AppGallery or Huawei Video. The film for the game is available through the paid platform Huawei Video. Owners of a Huawei Watch 3 or Watch Fit can also look forward to watching faces, which are in the style of Angry Birds 2. However, the manufacturer has not yet named an exact date for the publication here. There will also be themes for smartwatches from Huawei, as it says in the press release.

Kenyan Social Media Admins And Bloggers May Soon Be Required To Obtain Licenses

Kenyan social media managers and bloggers may soon be required to obtain licenses.

The battle against bloggers and social media managers has been there for quite some time and understandably the affected parties such as politicians and celebrities wouldn’t mind this proposed bill. This bill has been proposed by Malava Member of Parliament Malulu Injedi.

While it’s clear who a blogger is, it may not be as clear as who a social media admin is, well as long as you manage any social media platform including WhatsApp you will not be exempted from this rule. If this bill is passed you will have to be officially licensed by the Communications Authority of Kenya before even thinking of creating any social media platform. This is yet another attempt to hold people responsible for the content shared on online forums, however, is it doable?

The role of the CA will be to monitor the discussions and posts therein.

The bill states :

“A social media user shall ensure that any content published, written or shared through the social media platform does not degrade or intimidate a recipient of the content,”

What will bloggers be required to do?

If you’re in charge of “collecting, writing, editing and presenting of news or news articles on social media platforms or on the internet” then you’ll be required to get a permit from the CA before operating. There will be a code of conduct created then those who would be approved will be listed in the regulator’s bloggers’ Registry.

“The new part will introduce new sections to the Act on licensing of social media platforms, sharing of information by a licensed person, creates obligations to social media users, registration of bloggers and seeks to give responsibility to CA to develop a Bloggers’ code of conduct in consultation with the bloggers.”

Repercussions you may have to face if you violate the rules.

Assuming that the bill passes, there might be a bunch of rules that you may have to follow and sign that you will not violate the rules. So if you do violate the said rules then you risk jail time to two years or a minimum fine of KSh 500,000. This is yet another attempt to curb the freedom of speech that bloggers and content creators currently enjoy, two years ago it didn’t pass and we don’t think Kenyans will be willing to adhere to the said rules.
